Are you stuck in a rut of posting the same content over and over? Have your followers lost interest in your posts? Has your engagement gone down? If you’ve been managing your business pages on social media by yourself, it’s hard to find time to do research, plan, write, design and post content on a regular basis while you run your business. I’ve seen many pages fall into the trap of getting comfortable with the same five posts that they reuse over and over.
So if your business page is feeling a little stale, it might be time to switch up your content and post something new!
1 – Jump on Trends
Sometimes you don’t have to do all of the creative work to make creative posts. If there is something trending, like a certain dance, style of video, or hashtag challenge, you should take advantage of those opportunities to promote your business! The beauty of using trending content is that it’s already popular, so your changes of getting better engagement will be higher. Just make sure that you’re using the trend in a way that makes sense for your business. I’ve seen lawyers create dancing videos where they share useful tips for their clients by pointing to text as they dance it out, or I’ve seen businesses re-create trending memes to share (Bernie mittens memes anyone?). Find something that works for your industry, and have fun with it!
2 – Re-Introduce Yourself
This one is sooo easy. You can do this in a video post, or by posting a picture of yourself with the introduction in the caption. Either way, say hello to your followers and share a little bit about yourself! This is also a great way to boost your engagement. After sharing, ask your followers to introduce themselves too, or ask them any question related to your business. You can get very personal, make something fun and exciting, or keep it toned-down and professional. It all depends on your style and your brand.
3 – Share Tips Related to Your Industry
This is a type of post that can be re-purposed over and over and will look different every time. No matter what kind of industry you’re in, there is a wealth of knowledge that you can share with your followers. Try to approach this type of post from a place of service. Are your followers hesitant to use your services? Are they unsure of how to use your products? What should your customers know before purchasing your goods or services? Share the answers to those questions, or share about the latest news in your industry, and important information that customers need to know. For example, last year I tried to share social media and web trends with my customers.
